There are now two feeders by the heat lamp at the Ripley garden, and our Humming Bird was present and feeding this morning around 8 a.m. The bird was uncooperative regarding picture-taking, but I'll try again soon.
A few joggers stopped by to take a look, but didn't stay long.
One other bird of note - a mature Bald Eagle was soaring around the mall and L'Enfant Plaza area closer to 9:00 a.m.

Thank you, Denise; I'm sure the hummer will appreciate it! If I do have
time to make a trip in, I'll take the feeder and send a post so people
know the leaky feeder has been replaced. But it's good to know the
hummer won't run out of food either way.

I'm in the district and have no plans to travel through Monday. I can
certainly check on the feeder beginning tomorrow and through the
weekend. I'll post when I make a visit so no worries.

Hi all,
I believe I still have the second feeder that we used last year for the
Black-chinned and Rufous. I am not going out of town, so I will be happy
to take it in tomorrow to replace the leaky feeder. I'm not that fond of
the tube-style feeders myself (because of their tendency to leak), so I
will be happy to donate it to the winter hummers. If anyone else has
already hung a replacement feeder (or is planning to), please let me
know so we don't end up with 50 hummingbird feeders in the garden!<g>
