Started birding again after starting as a child (many many moons ago). A
friend told me that I am hallucinating but I saw a group of six Bald
Eagles sitting on dead tree limbs, driftwood, on Monday December 27th
around 2:30 pm in the Middle of the North East river during low tide.

The location was in between the North East Park and North East Isles
condominiums marina. Two adults' probably younger and the rest were
immature. I also observed silhouettes which appeared to be eagles on
sandbars. There could have been two to four more in the area.

What a sight! Watching them play in mid air, fish and just hang around and
be majestic! I observed this until dusk. When I saw the last two fly off
into the woods.

I know I am an amateur at this but tell me that this happens in Cecil
County so people don't think I nuts! 8{0

Thanks,
Don Passenant

Also sighted Common Mergansers at least a hundred and what appeared to be
Buffs in the distant, lots of gulls, small groups of mallards, noisy crows
and one cold Blue Heron. I could not confirm the Buffs due to the distance.

PSS: About three weeks ago we spotted thousands of gulls flying along the
North East River heading south. I suspect they were migrating but not sure
what kind of gulls they were. Does any one know?
