I visited Centennial Park today to see what was on the lake. I spent a large part of the time scoping the geese with Tom Stock before we were successful in spotting a pair of Cackling Geese. There really are a lot of smaller Canada Geese here to make the task difficult. Complete list with estimates of numbers:

Cackling Goose 2
Canada Goose 900, birds coming and going frequently
Baldpate 1
Black Duck 10
Mallard 180
Canvasback 4
Ring-necked Duck 40
Goldeneye 1 or 2 females
Hooded Merganser 6
Common Merganser 6 flew over
Ruddy Duck 2
Great Blue Heron 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 flew across the lake
Coot 1
Ring-billed Gull 110
