I will refrain from reporting what was seen on the New Year's walk by Howard
Bird Club today. However, since we didn't tag Pintails on the official
walk, I wanted to get this word out.

We began at Centennial, but skipped the west part, it being assumed to
be frozen. The stop at Wilde Lake did not produce the male Pintail we'd
been told was there on Friday. We drove past the west end on Centennial
Lane while seeking lunch, and saw it was open. So after we concluded at
Brighton Dam, I dropped in on the way home, and there between the last two
islands were 1 male, and 2 female Northern Pintails.

If the weather continues as today, the park will be jumping. You may wish
to park on Centennial Lane and walk in the west end. The parking lots were
jammed by 11:00 a.m. today.
