Hello All,

Well, I finally did it.  I took the time to venture from Arlington down to
the Seabreeze Restaurant to see Shrimpie the KELP GULL.  After about a 20
minute wait, he appeared and sat on a post for almost the entire duration
of my stay.  Handsome bird.  I snapped a couple of great pictures of him
with my wife's camera as well.

There was plenty to observe on the water between glances at Shrimpie.
Highlights were a single male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, several BLACK
SCOTERS, nearly 20 COMMON GOLDENEYES with several drakes, 5 LONG-TAILED
DUCKS, and an assortment of usual suspects for the habitat type.  Not a bad
way to start a year of birding!
