For many years I birded alone in Vermont, then in MD when I moved here 12 1/2 years ago.  I honed my birding skills, as well as my love of all things natural, on my own, in perfect solitude.  I don't keep lists anymore, I'm too busy to race off nilly-willy on rare bird chases, but you know what?  Every time I see a robin or blue jay, I'm as mesmerized as I was when I was a liitle boy.  

I guess what I'm trying to say is, to hell with the negative listers and twitchers who have nothing better to do than shoot down someone else's bird sightings.  Their opinions are many; the usefulness of most of those opinions are questionable at best.

As the U2 song goes. ..."don't let the bastards get you down...".
