While birding on 01/01/05 in the Greater Black Water National Wildlife
Refuge, myself and S. McKeon saw one GREAT EGRET perched in a tree off of
and near Greenbrier Road. Also in a cornfield near this location a very
cooperative PALM WARBLER (eastern) showed off for us.

In addition to the normals for the area, we also spotted a lone female
RING-NECKED PHEASANT roadside just west of the Refuge. It may have been a
released bird, as we stopped right alongside of the bird and it did not
flush at all.

p.s. If I get around to it later today I will post the days list of birds.
