Together with Bill Ellis I went looking for Cackling Geese in the Worthington Valley of western Baltimore County.  We found three Cackling Geese in a flock of about 1,200 Canadas on the north side of Worthington Avenue about a quarter mile west of Tufton Avenue.  Birds were arriving from several directions while we were there (about 9AM).  The fields here are not flat and birds easily disappear behind the rolling ground.  These are busy roads and there is not much space for pulling off.  The shoulders were soft from the recent rain.  We parked at the intersection with Bonita Avenue where there was solid ground.
