I have been off-line for a while and have a few places to report. Bill and I
were at Adkins Arboreum Saturday and saw GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS traveling
with BROWN CREEPERS in various places. We also heard two PILEATED
WOODPECKERS. Otherwise the birds were elsewhere.

Yesterday we went to Wye Island and saw a lot of waterfowl. About 200 RUDDY
 DUCKS, 30 CANVASBACKS, 30 BUFFLEHEADS, 2000 GEESE, 10 PINTAILS, 1 BALD
EAGLE, 2 RED-TAILED HAWKS and lots of woodpeckers, though no Red-headed. We
also saw BLUEBIRDS, WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, YELLOW-RUMPS, ROBINS and
CEDAR WAXWINGS and the usuals.

During my feeder count last week I had 52 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS. The
ground looked liked it was moving. Also 27 DARK-EYED JUNCOS AND 14
 GOLDFINCHES.
