Good day fellow birders,
Today there has been a Gadwall hanging around all day at Lake Redington (at the Patuxent Research Refuge's Visitor Center in Laurel). I first spotted it at 9 am with a group of Mallards along the far shore, visible from the patio of the visitor center. It was still out there at 2 pm but several hundred Can Geese often hid the bird. Only other ducks were Am. Black Ducks.

Also had a good sparrow day, all found among the high grass and cattails at the sediment pond next to the Loop Trail. Saw Song, Swamp, White-throats, Field, Am. Tree Sparrows and DE Juncos.
