Sorry for the late post -- hopefully, I'll have an internet connection at
home starting next week.
Driving back from a shrikeless visit to Prime Hook late Saturday afternoon,
I saw a male Brewer's Blackbird in a small flock consisting mostly of
cowbirds along with a few Red-wings. This was on Rt 16, in the first field
on the right after crossing the state line from Delaware.
I also stopped at the Denton sewage ponds behind the strip mall on Rt 404.
The back pond had Tundra Swans, 1 male Redhead, and 1 male Lesser Scaup
along with the usual Canada Geese and Ring-necked Ducks. Unfortunately, no
Bufflehead. Jim Brighton checked the ponds Sunday morning and found 4
Redheads (2 m, 2 f).
