While doing some bird survey work on private property in northern Queen Anne's county (just outside Chestertown) this morning we spotted two adult golden eagles soaring over head.  The birds were first seen around 10:30 am or so and were still circling around when we left around 11:15.  Both were seen at a relatively close distance at first (pretty much full frame view through 10x bins) then at varying altitudes as they searched for a thermal to ride.   I am not sure of the abundance of goldens in Maryland (as I am new to the state) but I figure that they are infrequent enough to require a post.  Stay warm!
