Folks

Hanging out at the house in Waldorf today I enjoyed the snow birds that
visited. With the mini storm numbers were also good, and variety was
pleasing.

Ring-billed Gull -2 fly by
Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
Mourning Dove - 20
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 4
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 2 one male, one female
Downy Woodpecker - 7
Hairy Woodpecker - 3
Blue Jay - ~25
American Crow - 6
Carolina Chickadee - 12
Tufted Titmouse - 9
White-breasted Nuthatch - 5
Carolina Wren - 4
American Robin - 2
Northern Mockingbird - 1
Pine Warbler - 1 male - hanging in there
European Starlings - ~20
Eastern Towhee - 5; three males, two females
Fox Sparrow - 2
Song Sparrow - 1
White-throated Sparrow - 25
Dark-eyed Junco - ~100
Northern Cardinal -~25
Red-winged Blackbird - 4
Rusty Blackbird - 1 male but no pictures
House Finch - 5
American Goldfinch - ~30

The juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk that has been around for a week was not seen
today.

Enjoy the birds, but feed them since they are losing habitat, and need all
the help they can get.
