My wife and I drove to Blackwater (Dorchester County) on this chilly
day to check out Eagles and anything else we could find. About an inch of
snow was present when we started, and was mostly gone by mid afternoon.
Highlights below -
Bald Eagles - at least 20 sightings, mostly around the wildlife
drive
	Northern Harrier	- 5
	Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
	Red-tailed Hawk	- 1
	American Kestrel	- 5
	Black Ducks - many
	Hooded Mergansers	- 2
Great Egret - one chilly one
	Great Blue Heron	-3
	Greater Yellowlegs - 4
	Belted Kingfisher - 1
Horned Larks	- ~30 along Egypt Road
	Meadow Larks	- 3
	Swamp Sparrows	- 2
	Song Sparrows	- many
White-throats and Cardinals and Juncoes - many

The Blackwater Log Book carried a report from their most reliable
eagle watcher mentioning a December sighting of Three Golden Eagles
simultaneously seen where each was feasting on its own Snow Goose catch.
Fascinating!
A refuge volunteer (also a member of Talbot Bird Club) showed us a
photo she had taken on New Year's Day which included at least 29 Bald Eagles
in the single field of view.
