Five inches of snow over here has driven lots of birds to feeders,
and will likely be a hardship for some of the others. Feeder bird
highlights:
	Fox Sparrow
	Brown Thrasher
	White-breasted Nuthatch
	Red-bellied Woodpecker
	Up to five Towhees
At least 30 Goldfinches and a dozen House Finches
Groups of ~ 50 birds per station at each of the four feeder stations
around our house
(White-throats, Cardinals, Juncoes, Blue Jays, along with a
few Song Sparrows)
		- and then the blackbirds discovered us (over 500 birds,
mostly red-wings, but quite a few Cowbirds, six Common Grackles and a couple
of Starlings).

Shortly after noon, I 'had to get out', and took a short drive
around the roads of the area to check for those brave birds that were out
and about. Lots of roadside feeding Juncoes, Song Sparrows, White-throats
and Cardinals. One group of four Bluebirds, and several Robins.
Eventually two 'new for me' 2005 bird species - Horned Larks (groups
in two different fields) and Hermit Thrushes (two along Copperville Road).

	Keep those feeders filled.
