Hughes Hollow on Friday 21 Jan 05
Crystal blue skies, not a hint of what was to come.
much of the marsh was frozen solid

I walked all the way in to the back field - incredibly lovely

The very first birds I saw - 5 American Robins

Northern Cardinal
Tufted Titmouse
Whiter-Throated Sparrow
Turkey Vulture
Carolina Chickadee
Downy Woodpecker
Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker
Pileated Woodpecker
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Carolina Wren
American Crow
Field Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow
Red Shouldered Hawk
White-Breasted Nuthatch
Saw-Whet Owl

As I came back out to the road the last group of birds
was a flock of 20 -25 Eastern Bluebirds swooping
and playing over the road.

Blessings
Gayle

If I keep a green bough in my heart,
the singing bird will come.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer.
It sings because it has a song.
