Rick,

I saw an adult Bald Eagle last Thanksgiving hovering over a flock of ducks
at Alligator River NWR in NC.  The flock took off but the eagle continued to
hover, until it spied a duck (a wigeon I think) which had stayed in place.
It dove on the duck and then flew off with it.  The eagle probably hovered
for about 15 seconds.
