There was a solid ice cover at Back River viewed from
Cox's Point Park except for a large open area around
the concrete pier. This area are marked death for
waterfowl, I counted 7 dead unidentified ducks and 1
dead Canada Goose (not counted for winter count)
probably stuck on ice as temp drop overnight few days
ago. It draws a couple of 2nd winter Bald Eagles and
several American Crows. Every year, this area was
popular for eagles, both adults and imm of several
ages.
