Hi all this afternoon Sat Feb 5, 05 I decieded to try for the Snow
Buntings I found on 1 - 27 - 05 in Centreville No such Luck only a
few Horned Larks . Leaving here went back to Rt 301 by way of Rolling
Bridge Rd crossed 301 continued on Rolling Bridge just passed the first
manure pile on the right at the Vegtable farm . Many more Horned Larks
here though no Buntings or Longspurs. farther back in and near the
irrgation pond were lots of Canada geese Estimated to be about 800 also
had about 200 Snow Geese tried scaning for a Ross's no luck they were
pretty far out there. I decided to go Back to 301 for a closer look .
THOUGH I DO NOT RECOMEND IT I stopped on the shoulder of South bound 301
across from were the geese feeding . More Snows came in as well as
Canada Geese estimated numbers Canadas 1,000 plus Snows About
800 or so. Still could not find Ross"s .
But I did See a lone BRANT feeding behind and at the edge
of the fock Of Canada Geese. Last Year there was a lone Brant hanging
with a large flock of Snows not far from here on Rt 309 at tha first pond
near Rt 213 . Last year same flock of Snows and Brant also seen in
Caroline Co.

  Happy weekend Birding
