It was a great birding day at ocean City on Sun Feb 6, 05 . All
three Scoter species all through the Inlet as well as the Ocean. Surf was
Pretty Rough had to scan the ocean birds bobbing up and down an
dissappearing . But I did manage to see briefly 1 Razorbill. I was with
the Talbot Co Bird club trip there . Unoffical Club rules are two or more
people in the group need to see the birds to go on the club list and as I
was the only one to see the Razorbill . It could only Go on my list. At
a rest stop at the Burger king at 33 rd street at least I think thats
were it was Jan Reese And I walked the street back to the Bay near the end .
There were some kind of pine trees Planted in the median strip under these
trees and on the street nearby were lots of Juncos, 1 song sparrow , 1
Red Breasted Nuthatch feeding In the pine cones. Robins here also . It
Goes to show an little habitat even in an urban setting attracts some
wildlie. The Iceland Gull at the 4th street flats was great find and a
state bird for me . Thanks Les for spotting it.
After Lunch the group went to that unamed state to the north of Ocean
City to view the Black Guillemot we had Great views But sort views .
the bird dove at lot and would reappear a good distance away . This was a
life bird For me as well as most of the group
