Hi all On Sat Feb 12, 05 Diane Cole And I made the trip to Sandgates
in St Marys Co to look for the Kelp Gull. Several years ago I went down
and had no luck what so ever . But on Sat Morning when we pulled into the
parking lot the Kelp Gull was on the ground at the edge of the water.
This was at 10:00 am at the same time a young couple from New Jersey
arrived. Great views. Soon shrimpy took up the gull sport of Dumpter
Diving . It found some tasty morsels to dine on. After eating it flew
to the Pier on the other side of the building landed on a post. this is
where we met a man from Virgina taking photos of the Gull. The greenish
color on the legs showed up well in the morning Sun . I also took some
photos of the Kelp Gull . Soon it was napping in the warmish Sunshine .
than we decided to scope the river here for other birds .
