Folks

About 1:30 AM today I began to hear a pair of Great Horned Owl duetting east
of the house. Probably nesters since this is in safe dates for this
species. They were still singing when I got up at 6:15 AM.

The other new bird for the year yard list was a single Common Grackle that
chased the Mockingbird off from the peanuts it was protecting.

All is well again. The Grackle got it's fill, and the Mockingbird went back
to guarding his pride.
