Poplar Island Sightings from Jan 12 & Feb 8, 2005

            This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of Poplar
Island.  

            These sightings include the birds seen on two different dates
(1/12 & 2/8), so the numbers shown in (   ) will refer to the birds seen on
those respective dates.  Some of the birds were seen from the boat during
the trip from Tilghman Island and back.  Count numbers on 1/12 for some
species were low due to the presence of dense fog on that day which made
distant birds very hard to see.
