Drove to the other end of Columbia to get some stuff from Target. Didn't get
any stuff but the trip wasn't a waste. As I departed the parking lot a
Sharpie cruised across my path less than 5 feet above the ground. It flew
between the restaurants so I drove over to see if it had landed. Found it
perched in a tree between the buildings. Just a silhouette (not sure I have
the right amount of letters in that) but a pretty close look in an
interesting venue. It finally took off toward Dobbin Center.
About 2 minutes later turning onto 175 I encountered a juvenile buteo,
probably a Red-shouldered, head on and flying low. In spite of that I was
able to safely execute the merge into traffic. Guess my peripheral vision is
holding up ok.
