On Sun Feb 27, 05 I Made my 2 nd try for the Northern Shrike
at Pickering Creek. When I pulled into the lane three quarters of the way
up it just passed the blind overlooking the Impounded area is . There were
some Birders Standing in the lane looking into the field to the east .
Lester Coble of the Talbot County Bird Club was one . He Had the Shrike in
his Scope that was in the top of a small tree or shrub just behind The
garden area and classroom But out in the feld in a Ditch line leading
back towords Sharp Rd. I got a quick View through his Scope .[ Thanks
Les ]
As I was setting Up my Own Scope the Shrike flew left and out
beyond the house and after a little while did not show Back Up . We all
went back twords the main parking area and walked past the Garden and
house area . Still no luck . Les Had to leave but we were quickly Joined
by Jim Wilson and Zack Baer. we went back to house area and Jim
Located the Shrike in a small Shrub behind the house and next to a
large tree not far from were the bird first was when I arrived. The Shrike
would Dissappear for a few miutes at a time and reappear in that same area
. All the time the feeders at the house had birds visting them .
Bluebirds In the Fields. It dissappeared again but on my way out the lane
I relocated the Northern Shrike in the same little tree that it was in when
I arrived.

After a vist to the Easton Wallmart For some things I needed I went
Went to Kingston Landing east of Easton to look at some Waterfowl for
My talbot year list . As this is the Talbot Co and Caroline Co line the
luck was that most birds were in Caroline Co . But some did stay or cross
into Talbot Co.

19 Common Mergansers 2 from Talbot crossed to Caroline Co to join the
rest for a total of 20
1 Common Golden Eye female on the talbot side
1 Great Blue Heron in Talbot County
