Thanks for the quick response June, the internet is a wonderful thing. I
have checked the pictures on the website. My impression is that the colour
of the Lapwings bill is the same as colour as the ground on which it is
stood. In a later e-mail Ben Weinstein comes to the same conclusion. For
your interest the Lapwing looks like a male.
