I don't recall seeing this posted to MDOsprey. I think that a few,
actually a lot, of letters of thanks would be a great idea! If the other
farmer indeed shoots the lapwing, the problem will become moot :(

Apparently, and due to some birding diplomacy, parking has been made
available at the Northern Lapwing in Creagerstown. Janet Millenson, MOS
President, helped make it happen.  The landowners are:

A thank-you note would probably go a long way to continuing to promote
improved birding relations, especially since the local Creagerstown
scene
last week was tense vis-a-vis the Sheriff's office. My simple birding
postcard is going into the mail tomorrow...
