I have always found that MOST birders are quite considerate of landowners
and people's privacy. I think it is the few not the many who are inconsiderate.
Saturday we drove to Thurmont and met some friends that drove 5 hours from
Connecticut to see the Lapwing. We had breakfast and then went to the site. We
all parked on the corner and walked to the graveyard. I walked on the paths
through the graveyard and not on the graves. After several hours and a decent
Lapwing sighting we went to the owl site near Gettysburg and observed
several Short-eared Owls and a beautiful albino Red-tail.
Expenditures for the day were breakfast for two, a fill-up on gas, soft
drinks at a convenience store, dinner for two and a rather large purchase in an
area antique store.
