WEEKEND CHURCH PARKING AT CREAGERSTOWN

It's OK to park in front of the church and in the
parrish hall parking lot opposite the church during
the weekend, except for Sunday morning (Sunday
church service). Please pass this information to
other birding lists that may be interested.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I usually don't forward personal emails to mailing lists. But in this case, I thought it would be appropriate for other birders to read what Pastor Joan had to say .... :-)

I'm still collecting donations for the church, and will mail it to Pastor Joan next weekend. Please email me if you're interested in contributing, or check the archive for contact information for donations directly to her. It doesn't have to be much, just a few dollars from a few people will go a long way.

cheers,
  shireen

Shireen,
As far as I know you'll be okay. At 12:30, our youth are having their meeting
at the parish hall, but that will only involve a couple cars which will already
be here from Sunday morning. I did have an e-mail from another gentleman who
was apologizing for the rude behavior of the others as well.

Like I told him, I understand this is a rare event and worthy of all of us being
gracious. In fact, I will be excited if I spot one of them myself. But if
someone desecrates the cemetary by parking on the grass or ground, or blocks
someone's access to their homes, I'd be among the first to call a towing
company.

We all know that there are common sense rules, like asking the homeowner's
permission and encouraging their enthusiasm first that make this adventure a
successful one and ensuring a welcome invitation at future dates. Thanks for
the phone call. I enjoyed talking with you too, but I was standing in a print
shop looking over graduation announcements when you called...so I apologize if
the conversation was a little disjointed.

Good luck with your sightings!
Pastor Joan
