As our infamous "Homeland Security" department couldn't secure their way out
of a paper bag, I consider all this silly post 9/11 stuff utter and
complete nonsense.

Before anyone shouts me down on this one, I'd like to point oput that I'm a
10-year veteran of the Army & Navy and I know what I'm talking about.

Sheesh... birding was easier on the flight deck of my ship...

I'd rather see this thread entitled, "Security considerations in Del." It's
not nonsense!

I hate to see birders lose birding opportunities due to national security
considerations, but as someone pointed out ... Dover AFB has always been a
sensitive installation. I was stopped and questioned looking for Uppies from
Rt 9 back after the first Iraq war. Normally, I suggest that people (or one
person) volunteer to see if something can be negotiated, or some type of
"birder registration program" be established, but in the case of this AFB,
don't bother ... it's not going to happen.
