After 3 hours of searching my wife and I found the Northern Shrike at
Pickering Creek on Saturday 3/12/05 from 5:30 PM to 5:45 PM. The shrike was
at the top of the 1st Sycamore tree on the left of the driveway into
Pickering Creek. I took a few photos. After 15 minutes the shrike flew into
the grasses between the Sycamore and the observation platform. There were a
lot of Song Sparrows in the area.
At 6:30 PM several woodcocks started calling. Also present were Great Horned
and Screech Owls in the general area.
