After work I drove to Choptank to see if there were any ducks on the river.
Dover marshes at Tanyard held many Green-winged Teal and Snipe. At Choptank
the two Cm. Goldeneye veiwed this last weekend by J. Hubble were still
present (male and female) working close to the shoreline on the Caroline Co.
side. Also present was one lone adult Red-breasted Merg. The gulls from
Behula landfill were slowly trickling in to perch at the marina, no unusual
species.
At Kingston Landing there were many Cm. Merg's working both sides of the
Choptank.
At the pond behind the house where you park to enter the Nature Conservancey
Land area just north of Kinston Landing there were Ring-necked Ducks and
Lesser Scaup.
