Hello
 I took a walk around Lake Kittamaqundi this afternoon to see if there would be any 'new' birds around on this nice day. Besides seeing several Canada Geese and Ring-billed Gulls, I saw 3 Great Blue Herons, 2 Black Vultures, 1 White-breasted Nuthatch and 1 Cedar Waxwing. It was good, but none of them were 'year's 1st' birds. 
 But I also saw at least 7 Mud Turtles sitting on rocks and logs beside the little island in the lake. It was the first time this year that I saw them.
