Today I went to check out a few of the Halethorpe Ponds reported
on by Stan, the Master Pondsman. I had never been to them.
Great habitat!
Additions to Stan's sightings:
Pond 11
Wood Ducks - pair
Mallards - pair
(Nearby - Fox Sparrow)
Pond 10 (from truck parking lot at end of Central Ave)
American Black Ducks
Pied-billed Grebe
Great Egret
(Tree Swallows)
Small ponds adjacent to Oregon Business Center northernmost
parking lot
Black-crowned Night-Heron (moved between ponds, I think)
I also accessed Pond 9 from behind Snyder's Willow Grove
restaurant. (Ring-necked Ducks still there.)
