Tripod Clarification

Sorry, I was in a hurry.  My Leica 77 mm APO Scope with heavy duty Bogan 
tripod weighs about 9 pounds.

  Since I prefer walking while birding, as opposed to drive-by birding, I've 
found the backpack style tripod carrier very useful (tri-pack).  You can carry 
the tripod hands free, so you can use your binoculars.

  I strongly recommend the heavier tripods because they are less likely to be 
knocked over during intensive birding.  More important, they are steadier. 
Wind, traffic and excited birder induced vibration greatly reduces optimum 
sharpness.  Sharpness is what you are paying for.  Anybody who has done 
serious photography knows that sharpness is more important than power.

I love my scope, I love my tripod, I love my tri-pack, I love the exercise I 
get dragging them over hill and dale.
