I was at the Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve from about 7:00-7:45 a.m. this
morning. An Osprey was sitting on a branch hanging out over the lake. It
stayed there for the whole time that I was there. Is that normal behavior
(to stay in one place that long)?

The water level in the lake is going down after the rain earlier this
week. There was a lot of activity near the edges of the plants in the
middle of the lake.

On my list this morning:

Osprey
Ring-necked Duck
Mallard Duck
Canadian Goose
Belted Kingfisher
Pied-billed Grebe
Ruddy Duck (3)
Tree Swallow
Barn Swallow
Red-winged Blackbird
