While working on water garden cleanup at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp today, I heard an early OVENBIRD singing loudly for about half an hour just after noon. Earlier, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was singing from the cypress swamp. Also saw a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER and a HERMIT THRUSH while working in the garden. One male Falcate Orangetip butterfly was all that seemed to be around in the butterfly category.
