The Sora was at Hughes Hollow at 4:35 p.m. today, visible at the first big
gap in the bushes on the right, about 80 feet past the bulletin board. No
binoculars were needed; it was right at the edge of the water.

On Tuesday afternoon, Gayle Bach-Watson and I weren't able to locate the
Sora, but we did find 45 other species in the vicinity. They included a
female Wild Turkey, a calling Barred Owl (at 2 p.m.), and six kinds of
sparrows (Chipping, Field, Song, Swamp, White-throated, and White-crowned).
There were three Yellow-crowned Night-herons near the eastern entrance off
Hunting Quarter Road. One YCNH was displaying for a couple of others, but
apparently it's a week too early for this behavior to count for the Atlas.
