Observations:
Very exciting day! Our third 1000+ day of the season with 12 species
represented; flight continuous and all over the sky throughout the day,
right to the end of the watch. Many birds unbelievably high. Thanks to all
the observers whose sharp eyes and keen interest made for a great count.
99 Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers; 6 Eastern Kingbirds - first of the season; 33
Common Loons; 200+ American Goldfinches; 600+ Blue Jays. All of the above likely undercounted. More swallows, swifts, and martins. Seven butterfly species.
