The Ivory-bill article in Science magazine (link below), in the first
footnote, mentions six extinct, or presumed extinct, North American birds
(Labrador Duck, Eskimo Curlew, Bachman's Warbler , Carolina Parakeet,
Passenger Pigeon as well as Ivory-billed Woodpecker).  It does not mention
Great Auk.  Was this not a North American bird?
