Hi Folks,

Last night I had a phone message from a resident of Foxhall Farms Rd., which
is the road that goes past the entrance to the Mears property (now a part of
Patapsco Valley State Park). This person saw a male Ring-necked Pheasant
while she walked past the gate to the park, and the bird actually chased
after her a short way.

This is the first recent pheasant report I've had from this area, where
pheasants were last seen about 13 years ago, according to another resident.
Interestingly, in 2003 Paul Kreiss heard a pheasant at UMBC, which is only
about a half mile away , as the pheasant flies.

This will be an interesting bird to watch out for, for those who visit this
property regularly.
