Lake Roland, as usual, provided a fun outing this afternoon/evening.

Warblers present:

N. Parula: Two heard and seen near the falls. Nice views of these birds.
L. Waterthrush: Singing near the concrete "thing"
Yellow-throated: In the treeline near the falls
BT Green: In the trees above the main trail
Yellow-rumped: Plentiful in the treeline by the falls

Also:

White-eyed Vireo: Along the main trail
Blue-headed Vireos: off of the main trail, close to the mudflat area.

BG Gnatcatchers: Plentiful in most of the areas I walked through

RC Kinglet: Same thing...lots of them
GC Kinglet: Saw one off of the main trail

Other birds of note:

Wood Duck: 4
American Kestrel: 1
Killdeer: Several on the mudflats
White-throated Sparrow: One beautiful bird still hanging around

And, of course, The Black-crowned Night Heron. I only saw one, but I'm
sure if I'd stayed later I'd have seen more. They forage at the base of
the falls and are just so much fun to see every year.
