I went to Rock Creek (DC) this morning and joined a small group of birders that found some nice birds amongst the relatively few migrants present. Best were a male Cerulean Warbler at the Nature Center parking area, which spent some time almost at eye level and a male Nashville down at the Maintenance Yard. Other warblers were Palm (heard it singing, not sure which type), Ovenbird, Black-and-White and Yellow-rumped (though not all that many of this species) and Louisian Waterthrush, the latter heard singing in the woods en route to the Yard. I also heard Blue-headed Vireo and Great-crested Flycatcher.

I had a probable cuckoo sp seen (poorly) twice flying through the woods - but did not get a good enough look to confirm. Only Wood and Hermit today for the thrushes. Flyovers included around 30 Blue Jays and 1 Common Loon.

I had to leave around 8:30 and am not sure whether others saw additional species, perhaps they could post if they did.

Regards
