A *Marsh Wren, no doubt a migrant, in the small patch of cat-tails at
Gov Bridge Park, was a bit of a surprise today so far up the Patuxent.
Also newly arrived was the first
*Hooded Warbler of the season there.
*White-throated Sparrows continue common thru-out Bowie as of today.

In other news, I had missed reporting these sightings -
On Apr 23, at PWRC, a
*Yellow-throated Warbler, at a spot where they bred regularly until
about 10 years ago but have been absent from since. Also just returned
there,
*Wood Thrush. Still lingering, the several
*Rusty Blackbirds reported earlier, fraternizing with the much larger
group of Red-wings as they sometimes do when their own numbers are low.
Many *White-throated Sparrows flitted uncharacteristically high in the
tree-tops.
Meanwhile, our (male)
*Ruby-throated Hummingbird returned to the yard the same day.

On Apr 24, on Western Branch by boat, a
*Prothonotary Warbler

Elsewhere on the river at Jug Bay, among others,
*1 Common Loon in full breeding plumage
*6 Blue-wingred Teal
*4 Common Merganser females
*1 Peregrine Falcon
*~ 10 Wilson's Snipe
*6 Greater Yelowlegs
