(Apologies again for those of you who are receiving this e-mail twice)

First, I would like to thank all of you who have already made pledges to support Pronatura Veracruz through our World Series of Birding team. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! We are close to getting $1000 in pledges and it would be great if we could pass that mark before the big day on May 14 in Cape May, NJ.

As I mentioned in my last e-mail, the people at Pronatura are always very grateful for the support they receive from us here in the States. Here is a short message from Norma Ferriz, the Executive Director of Pronatura Veracruz, noting a few of the ways your donations make a difference for Pronatura Veracruz:

---------------------------------

Dear Virginia and Maryland birders,

Your donations support our conservation efforts in Veracruz, Mexico, which include:
* The continuation of our million raptor flyway monitoring, banding and education effort, including helping to pay the expenses related to field staff
* Our communications initiatives so more people learn about birds, their importance, and the importance of their conservation all the way from Northern Canada to Argentina
* Our training initiatives so young people can participate in courses and activities that range from birdwatching for
tour leaders, to bird banding, leadership and land conservation.

Just as each individual bird that the Holy Order of Loggerhead Shrikes counts plays an important role in the ecosystem where it is
counted, each of your dollar contributions plays an important role in Pronatura's work!

Muchas gracias por ayudarnos a cambiar el mundo, poco a poquito se llena el jarrito :)

Norma

Go team!! We wish we were there!

---------------------------------

This year, 100% of the money you contribute will go directly to Pronatura. You may pledge an amount for each species we find on May 14th (usually around 150 species, though we hope, as always, to see a lot more) or you may pledge a flat amount. Either way is great! Just send me an e-mail or fill out the pledge form on our team's website: http://www.holyshrikes.com/pledge.html

Thanks again for your support!
