On my way down Shure's Landing Road this afternoon,
I was startled to see a peacock strolling up the road.
I just thought I'd mention that so y'all will be careful driving
down the hill toward the parking lot.

It was after 5 pm so not much was stirring along the path except for
a flock of yellow-rumped warblers, but the ospreys
and bald eagles put on a vocal show, with much chirping
and fish-catching and many low passes over the trail.

The hillside is covered with trillium right now--it must be
spectacular in morning light.
