This am at Lake Artemesia I found many Myrtle's and Parula's, and also a
Prairie Warbler, while fellow birder Jay Pape had spotted a Prothonotary
there. No other warblers were seen, but a 1st yr male Orchard Oriole was
in full song. A Caspian Tern over the lake was a nice treat. The most
surprising bird was back at the parking lot where a Black-billed Cuckoo
was calling distinctly.
While long since reported elsewhere, "our" Catbird made his first
appearance in the yard today, at least 2 days late. Also showing up,
also a few days later than usual, was a Baltimore Oriole.
