An even better day than yesterday. We had our first Crested Flycatcher and
Pewee of the year and another 2 Blue-headed Vireos (subspecies not
determined). The 15 species of Warblers included: Blue-winged, Nashville, Parula, 2
Yellows, Cape May, 5 Black-throated Blues, 25 Yellow-rumped, 2 Black-throated
Greens, Black-and-White, 4 Redstarts, 2 Worm-eating, 3 Ovenbirds, 2 Northern
Waterthrushes, Common Yellowthroat and Canada. Possible Hooded and Prairie
Warblers could not be confirmed. We found only 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and 2
Baltimore Orioles. Lack of a sunny edge kept the birds within the wooded
stream valley. Altogether a decent morning.
