Hi Linda, thanks for posting.  Forwarding your message (hope you don't mind) to MDOSPREY, a listserv for reporting bird sightings in Maryland.  I've never seen Wild Turkeys in Bowie.  What town did you see them?

  It's sure been quiet lately -- everyone outside nature-watching and so

  This morning, as I sipped my first cup of coffee, I spied THREE wild
  turkeys pecking their way across my back yard.  I'm near Bowie, and
  there is lots of new construction around . . . . still, I checked a
  couple of google'd sites with photos of wild turkeys, and I'm certain
  that is what they were.  Never have spotted any before, here, but
  then, we ONCE saw a pileated woodpecker, and haven't had that pleasure
  again since.

  Just wanted to share a wondrous sense of discovery!
