Several of us birded Milford Mill Park, then Soldiers Delight in
western Baltimore County today. There were definitely some migrants,
though hardly a flood. We had 13 warbler species at Milford Mill, and
added 3 more at Soldiers Delight for a total of 16 warblers.
There were 2 FOY's for all of us: Blackpoll and Magnolia Warbler, and
7 Little FOYS for some of the group, or maybe 8 or 9. These included a
moderately well-seen Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, N Waterthrush, and
Hooded Warbler. Best birds, for me at least, were 2 well-seen male and
one female Rose-breasted Grosbeak finally. We saw multiple brilliant
Scarlet Tanagers as well. There were a number of catharus thrushes at
Milford Mill: Wood Thrush, Veery, Swainson's Thrush, and a silent
Mystery Thrush that most resembled Bicknell's in Sibley, but far be it
from me to assert… .
A partial list of species follows, all seen or heard at Milford Mill,
